Our Linen Jacket in a new natural linen color. We started work on this in January and the first of the pro-production samples have arrived. They look great. This is a heavy weight linen that drapes beautifully and will mate perfectly with our existing linen nighties and especiallly with the new Gray Rose and Baby Blue Rose nighties we are having made for us in India. Shown here is one of the samples over one of the Gray Rose linen nighties we also have in production. I would imagine that new stock in this color will arrive here around the end of May. Four or Five months from beginning of produciton to product arrival is not unusual. I don't think the average consumer has any idea how long it actually takes. Just the shipping alone by surface delivery (ie: by Boat!) takes two weeks from Shanghai to the port in Long Beach California. Then from there another two weeks to have the order stripped from the shipping container, packed and trucked to Austin, then another week to go through local customs. There's five weeks just in the shipping! Actual production doen't take long. Our Chinese contractor can normally knock out an order in a few days. This is with a fairly large tailoring staff on hand, but they wait until all of the fabric is on hand, which might take a month or two, and then there is the que. Your produciton is always in a line up somewhere, even with the small shops we use. Its all fascinating of course.
